Outcomes

What we measure and what we aim for.

We publish our KPI targets and measurement approach before outcomes data is available. The first report covers months 1 to 6 and is due at month 9 of operation.

Annually

Annual outcomes report published each spring. Submitted to commissioners and CQC as required.

Validated outcome measures

Four validated tools are used at fixed points in the pathway. The clinician reviews scores with the young person and family at each review session and adjusts the care plan where the data suggests a different approach.

RCADS

Revised Children's Anxiety and Depression Scale

When used

Intake, week 6, week 12 and discharge

Versions

Parent and young person versions (aged 8 to 18). RCADS-A for adults 18 to 25.

SDQ

Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire

When used

Intake and discharge

Versions

Parent-report and self-report. Teacher-report where school consent is available.

CORE-10

Clinical Outcomes in Routine Evaluation

When used

Intake, mid-point and discharge

Versions

For those aged 16 and over. General wellbeing measure covering distress, functioning and risk.

GBO

Goals Based Outcomes

When used

Care plan stage, then every review session

Versions

Goals set collaboratively with the young person. Rated 0 to 10 at each review. Targets agreed in advance.

How outcomes data is governed

Outcome measures are entered into the clinical record at each data point. The MDT reviews aggregate scores weekly alongside individual case reviews. Where aggregate data shows a pattern, the Clinical Lead may adjust service-level protocols.

Outcomes reports are reviewed by the Registered Manager and, where blip holds a commissioned contract, submitted to the relevant ICB or Local Authority at agreed intervals. CQC receives outcome data as part of the Annual Return.

For commissioners

Blip can provide commissioners with a bespoke outcomes schedule aligned to local CAMHS KPIs, quarterly data extracts, and an annual benchmarked report on request.
